Loren has over twenty years experience working with children and adolescents. First as a high school art teacher and then as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist. She is also trained in trauma therapy/Accelerated Resolution Therapy, which is a bilateral eye-movement technique for phobias, fears, traumas and attachment ruptures (much like EMDR). She has extensive experience with children, teenagers and young adults with anxiety, depression, school avoidance, low self-esteem, fears and phobias, traumas and typical life transitions. Loren has a down to earth, kind and understanding approach and also provides practical strategies from DBT, CBT, ACT, meditation, and somatic practices.

- Loren worked as a high school pottery and sculpture teacher at West Hill High School, Bristol Eastern High School, The Miami Art League and the Miami Children’s Museum.
- Loren has experience working with adults with disabilities at the Maggie Daily Artist Cooperative.
- Loren did her art therapy field work at Yale New Haven Hospital on the pediatric floor, with children who have debilitating illnesses.
- Loren worked with inpatient adults experiencing dual diagnosis care at the Connecticut Mental Health Clinic/Yale
- Loren uses art therapy along with psychoeducation to teach her clients how their brain functions. She uses art therapy to deepen understanding, assist clients in expressing their challenges, and guides them through learning many coping skills to strengthen them in their journeys.
- Loren is trained in an EMDR approach to healing which is called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She uses this approach with children and adults to facilitate reprocessing of fears, anxiety, phobias, hurtful memories, traumas (acute and childhood trauma).
- Loren uses an eclectic approach combining other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Therapy (DBT), somatic practice, and ART.
- Loren connects with schools and families to create a supportive, team approach and truly believes “It takes a village to raise a child.”
- Loren has been described as having an ‘earth mother’ way of interacting in that she believes in the goodness in all beings.
- Strength based and person centered, she is able to connect with all ages and especially loves working with adolescents
Loren specializes in working with young adults, teens, and preteens, and during school hours, works with adults on everything from the pressures of parenting to their early attachment challenges and traumas so they can let go of old conditioned patterns and move forward with love.

Loren is a working artist and is currently working on a series of clay sculptures and pottery for a future show.
