Erin Micali, PsyD

Neuropsychologist

Erin is a licensed psychologist in CT and NY who specializes in neuropsychology. Erin’s neuropsychological assessment experience includes learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g., ADHD, ASD, learning disorders, intellectual disability) and socioemotional assessment (e.g., mood, anxiety, depression, personality). She has a passion for early childhood evaluations as well as first time evaluations as Erin believes that a well-written assessment can be used as a road map for helping a person to navigate their complex needs holistically, academically, socially, and emotionally. Dr. Micali approaches assessment from a strength-based perspective in which she looks for a person’s innate skills to help facilitate growth and development. Her reports are intended to support the child to access their education and better understand their learning style through highlighting the interplay of emotions, neurodevelopmental disabilities, and overall psychological functioning.

Erin earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Connecticut: one in psychological sciences through the university’s honors program and one in communication. In 2023, she graduated from Rivier University with a combined doctorate in counseling and school psychology. Erin has completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at a community care center where she conducted assessments and therapy with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. Her training placed an emphasis on cultural humility. Thereafter, Erin went on to complete a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology.

Dr. Micali is a contributing member of the Pediatric Mind-Body Health Lab of Touro University. Erin has published on equitable assessment and inclusive teaching practices for students with neurodevelopmental diagnoses. Other publications have focused on metacognitive practices, helping parents to understand neurodiversity, AI, pro bono and low-fee assessment, and female ASD. Previously, as an undergraduate Erin researched joint engagement and language acquisition in toddlers.

Outside of work Erin enjoys kayaking, exploring nature trails, and hiking with her dog.
