Dr. Austin Stokes is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Austin Stokes has extensive expertise supporting children, adolescents and young adults facing challenges associated with their unique developmental milestones and life transitions, including anxiety, attention concerns, emotion dysregulation, identity exploration, and social skills. He strives to make therapy a safe and supportive space in which creativity and collaboration can unfold for enlightening and lasting developments through an integrative and individualized approach with keen consideration for the person’s potential and unique life experiences. He uses warmth, humor, and a down-to-earth attitude when working closely with families, school supports, colleagues, and others closely involved in the therapeutic process.

Austin has extensive training and experience in both individual and group-based therapy, utilizing an evidence-based and integrative approach including:

  • Endeavors to help clients understand the patterns underlying challenges while acknowledging them to be the expert on their own life.
  • Emphasizes flexibility in meeting clients’ needs in an individualized manner based on their needs, strengths, motivations, interest, history, and challenges.
  • Encourages close collaboration and connection with parents and caregivers of clients to support continuation of work outside of the therapeutic space.
  • Strongly embraces all facets and expressions of diversity and has spent a great deal of time promoting and continually educating himself on progressing social justice and neurodiversity.

Outside of the therapeutic space, Austin enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing guitar, and outdoor activities including kayaking, swimming, and hiking.
