Carrie received her undergraduate degree from American University in communications and psychology and has a masters degree in literacy and elementary education from Bank Street College of Education. She spent her 12 years teaching in both public and private schools on the East and West Coast. As an educator, Carrie always put the social/emotional development of her students first, and saw the whole child, focusing on the individual needs of each student. Once becoming a parent of two boys, Carrie decided to leave the classroom and get certified as a parent coach, merging her extensive knowledge of child and brain development with her studies of effective parenting practices. Carrie also brings deep knowledge of the brain-body connection to her clients, focusing on how to effectively support children and adults through the lens of sensory and somatic ideas.
Carrie brings her approachable nature to the families she works with, combining compassionate listening and deep curiosity to meet each person where they are. She uses a strengths based, systemic approach integrating narrative and solution focused principles into her work. Carrie has expertise in supporting clients to identify and understand patterns that are not working and with the client, co-creates achievable goals. She is currently in a Master’s program to become a marriage and family therapist, furthering her development in order to support individuals, couples and families. She is thrilled to be joining the Sasco community!
